Beautiful Madness

twin hues of
green and blue
light and pain
align in the portrait she paints,
a lovely bitter face.

And she wonders....

is it a symptom of madness

to find such beauty swirling

around all that
sadness?

Sara,

A beautiful poem to match the painting. No, it is not madness. Beauty simply is.

Very powerful image. You words focus on one emotion, not madness.

Beautiful poem and painting. Blues and greens are by far my favourite colours. Madness perhaps, or just that beauty is found in all kinds of things even in sadness.

I must say, that is the best painting I've seen of all entrants this week.
The poem's structure goes well with the image and has suitable depth. Good write.

No, not madness. Beauty I thinks seeks out sadness, in other words, it is more evident in it than in other states of mind. Nice poem.

Beautiful and powerful. Not madness at all. Love the painting too.

brilliant.... spell binding... i like hte painting but your poem is self contained. it does not need the visual element to convey its profound madness... this is so beautiful.. so simple.. like water and air .. .

sadness and beauty just are together so often, not madness at all.

this is beautiful and so is the painting... i love the different expressions. I think beauty and pain for some people may cross eachother among a life of madness, it reminds me of "What can you think about in the face of this kind of beauty, I get scared I know that" D.D

This photo evoked such different ideas for us both. I like your poem much better. I think the world is nothing but madness. We all love and hate and cry too hard, but there is no cure. Thanks for sharing this one.
