a tragic smile decorates
her otherwise
pretty face
a pretty girl
she could have been
could have been...
But knowledge slit her like a sword
open, end to end
exposed
and all her heat grew cold, so cold
and yet......
yet
except for the
telling smile
she shows the world
she could have been.... a pretty girl

i knew her once..
there is then a certain sadness that they hide well in their womanly wisdom..
beautiful poem my friend.. i have been elsewhere lately, thanks for looking in on me..
Hey Crimsonflaw!
I am glad I finally took the time to follow the link to your other blog. I was so caught up in NaNoWriMo that I got behind in leaving comments on blogs. Anyway, that is over now. So hopefully I can stop by and indulge in your poetry some more soon.

I love this poem because it is the truth. The whole idea of the female revolution, equal rights, everything...its captured in just a few lines. I find so often that smart women are looked over while physicality is all one sees. Alas, the world will never change.
