To Find His Girl
He threw me away
with a flick of his wrist,
like one of his cigarettes,
disposed of
thoughtlesslyand if he remembered later
that he lost me ...
and clawed at the ground,
looked under
every stone in the world,
beat back the tides
to find his girlthat wouldn’t change a thing.
He threw me away.
What a great poem.
